Midland Engine Works - Leeds

A typical McLaren steam generating boiler of the late 1880s. These could be made in various sizes from as little as 4 HP up to 160HP. They claimed to be very economical steam generators potentially consuming around a third of the fuel than other boilers. From 'Yorkshire Industries - Part 1' 1888, p130.
