Cookridge Mill (site of)

Description and History of Site:-
Previously (on the OS map of c1850) marked simply as a 'Silk Mill' and subsequently (1893) as 'Cookridge Mills (Silk)'. Presumably this is the origin of 'Silk Mill Bridge' to the east and 'Silk Mill Farm' just across the railway. No remains appear to be present.

John Heaton Charnley, silk spinner, of Cookridge Mills is listed in Kelly's directory for the West Riding, 1881.
