Wharf Street Maltings, Sowerby Bridge

Caption :- Wharf Street malting premises were probably erected prior to 1830, when Samuel Wylde, maltster, appears in a local trade directory. By 1845 John and Samuel Wylde are listed, Samuel being the licensee of the nearby Wharf Inn. By 1886, the premises were occupied by James Robinson, and had been converted for use as a warehouse. Adjacent was a house, and a single storey building occupied by Owen Shaw as an ale and porter stores. Between 2011 and 2015 the building was home to Owenshaw Mill Brewery.
