Deal Street Warehouses, Halifax

Caption :- A row of wool warehouses erected piecemeal from around 1865 to 1870 for J. Crabtree. Six in number, the earliest warehouse faces Church Street and was occupied in 1887 by Chas. Berwick, woolstapler, and in 1905 by Dawson & Hauxwell, woolstaplers and wool waste merchants. Likewise the remaining warehouses in Deal Street have successively been tenanted by those involved in woolstapling and wool merchanting up until the decline in the industry during the mid to late twentieth century.
