Putney Bridge Station

Description and History of Site:-
Opened 1880, for nine years southern limit of District Line. Main building on west of line, imposing three-storey white-brick facade. Street level entrances under brick viaduct and in central archway of facade, stairs up to platforms. Western platform carried north on wrought-iron trusses on cast-iron columns alongside the viaduct which continues as far as Parsons Green Station.
