Description and History of Site:-
Former factory of the Ingersoll watch manufacturing company.

The factory was built in the 1930s for property speculator Gilbert Waghorn to the design of his architect brother Stanley. Before it was completed, Ingersoll agreed to move in and arranged for parapet to be modified to incorporate the green and off-white mosaic with the logo of Ingersoll.

After production switched to Ystradgynlais, near Swansea, in 1948, the Clerkenwell factory was bought by Condé Nast and became the pattern factory for fashion magazine Vogue. Converted into lofts in the mid-1990s.
