Description and History of Site:-
Henry Braddock's Southgate brewery stood on the corner of Maynewater Lane and Southgate Street. It was purchased by Edward Greene after Braddock's death in 1868. Greene demolished the brewery but kept the malthouse in use up to the 1930s, when it was known as the White Hart Maltings.
It stood derelict for many years until the 1980s when it was converted into two apartments.
