Description and History of Site:-
Crocker (1990): 'The ornate clock projecting from the Guildhall in the High Street is reputedly by John Aylward of London and is assumed to date from 1683 when the facade of the building was added. Restoration of the Guildhall in 1987 revealed Tudor structures.'
