Description and History of Site:-
A series of discontinuous stone workings working Millstone Grit strata showing as delphs cut into the hillside just below the plateau at an altitude of c. 610-620m, with the occasional crude stone worker's shelter and abandoned part-shaped stone items such as millstone roughouts and dimension stone roughouts, eg probable gate stoups. The best millstone roughout, with a diameter of 1.5m, thickness of 350mm and a central hole with a diameter of 200mm, lies on chock stones at SD8395 7511.
The main elements of the workings have been entered in the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority's HER as MYD 66620-66628. no archival evidence of these workings has been found
