Driffield Mill (site of)

Description and History of Site:-
Was sited on railway.
Built circa 1862 by the Driffield Pure Linseed Cake Company and operated by them until 1940. The company went out of business in 1947. The mill was purchased by White's Sugar Mills Ltd and later still operated by Chas. Southwell & Co. Ltd., confectioners. In the 1970s used as a club. Demolished 2007. Currently (2017) the site is cleared but as yet undeveloped.
