Goole Railway Station

Description and History of Site:-
In 1973 Hatcher noted: 2 storey red brick. Rail passenger services to Goole began with the original terminus (1848) of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway on Aire Street, about 500m to the south east. The present station, replacing that terminus, was opened by the North Eastern Railway on October 1st 1869. In more recent times the building on the station's eastern side have been replaced by a more minimal structure and the roofed NER-pattern cast iron footbridge was demolished. The original NER clock was preserved and moved to the western platform.
