Kirkbymoorside Windmill

Description and History of Site:-
Hatcher noted:- Tall brick tower of 5 storeys. Pitched slate roof inserted at the neck. Behind Mill House 17 West End. Datestone of 1839.

It is reputed that although built in 1839 a dispute with a neighbour meant that the sails were never hung although the mill did operate on an oil engine for a short time.
