Armley Canal Road Station

Description and History of Site:-
The booking office of the disused station. It served the suburb of Armley until closure in 1965. The original station opened in 1846 by the Leeds and Bradford Railway was on the eastern side of Canal Road and moved to this site when tracks 3 and 4 were built. The L&BR was later absorbed by the Midland Railway, and eventually (before nationalisation in 1948) part of the London Midland and Scottish Railway. Closed by the British Railways Board in 1965. Currently (2017) in other commercial use.
