Motor Haulage Depot, Horton Street, Halifax

Caption :- The motor haulage depot was erected on part of the site of Harrison and Singleton's timber yard during the period between the wars, as road haulage began successfully to compete with rail transport, and was built to a modern, art-deco design with a stylish office building known as Transport House, facing Horton Street. Part of British Road Services between nationalisation and 1967, the premises were then used by John Mackintosh & Sons Ltd. for warehousing from the 1970s to the mid 1980s.
