Recording and Communicating Our Industrial Heritage
Using Industrial Heritage Online
Industrial Heritage Online is free for all to use, we only ask that if you use any of the information or images that you
credit IHO as the source.
The aim of IHO is to provide free web access to information about Industrial Heritage Sites. IHO
is a fully searchable database, that has been developed by a group of Industrial History Societies, and which aims to provide an on-line repository for members' knowledge,
photographs research notes, audio, and sound recording of industrial sites, artefacts and processes. It is hoped
that, in time, this will become a comprehensive record of our shared Industrial Heritage and an invaluable resource to everyone researching
the development of Industry
You do not need to be a member of the IHO collaboration to search the database. However we are always keen to hear from researchers or others who have a passion for
our shared Industrial Heritage and who would be interested in contributing their own research to the database or who would be willing to help transcribe other data sets.
Every effort has been made to correctly attribute the images and other media available on this web site.
If any individual or organisation believes that any image or media is incorrectly credited please
contact us and the media will either be removed or the acknowledgement will be corrected.
