Description and History

Closed station on the Post Office Railway. There is a loco siding, and reversing loops at each end of the station. There are two lifts linking to the surface building, and chutes for post bags, and stairs. Track level access only - access from surface sealed.

Although authorised in 1913 and commenced by the start of WWI the completed tunnels were used for wartime storage of museum objects until 1919. Contracts were let for completion of electrical and signalling installations in 1924.
