Blakethwaite Smelt Mill - Reeth

The location and immediate surroundings of Blakethwaite smelt mill. This was probably at its peak level of development. Fewer buildings and structures are marked on the later mapping. Note the 'smithy' to the north-east; this was probably associated with the numerous levels, mining activity and a quarry nearby. Extract from the OS 6" mapping of 1854.
