Windmill Hill Brewery - Halifax

The Windmill Hill Brewery,Northowram was a small, purpose-built brewery complex, created in 1897 by James Alderson as a replacement for the Lower Brear Brewery. The Windmill Hill concern merged with the Warley Springs Brewery around the year 1910 and brewing ceased at Northowram soon afterwards. This view shows the former counting house guarding the entrance to the brewery yard, July 1987.
