Thorncliffe Iron Works - Sheffield

Base of an 1824 gas lamp standard made for John Malam of Beverley by Thorncliffe Ironworks. Considered to be one of the earliest surviving gas lamps in the world, still standing and in use (converted to electricity) in Beverley, East Yorkshire.
