Kirkby Fleetham Mill

Description and History of Site:-
Hatcher, 1973: Three storey mill. No machinery except some wooden framing on the ground floor and one bin. Water flows under building. Belonged to Burgess family before they took Bedale mill. From the Dalesman, January? 1953, the mill was remodelled in c1865, and a steam and gas suction engines later supplemented the waterwheel.

At the time of Hatcher's visit the mill was in use as the 'World of Nature' taxidermists showroom. Now (2017) the only remnant of the mill complex is probably the low building northernmost of the site facing Fleetham Lane.
