Strensall Tannery

Description and History of Site:-
By the upper bridge. Three storeys. Brick. Fairly modern (Hatcher 1974). Established in 1805, acquired by Charles F Stead & Co Ltd, of Sheepscar Tannery, Leeds, in the 1960s, closed in 2004. Largely destroyed after several arson attacks beginning in 2008. Whole site redeveloped to housing in 2013.
