Description and History of Site:-
Worth Valley Works, Pitt Street. A large complex of workshops, mills foundry and offices. The office building has a rather nice carved stone monograph "DSG" above the door. Manufacturers of machine tools particularly lathes and milling machines. Founded in Bingley in 1865 by Joseph Dean, the company moved to Keighley in the late 1860s. Remained as an independent manufacturer until 1973. After several changes of ownership and restructuring, the assets of the company were acquired by Machine Tool Technology Group (MTTG) who announced in 2015 that the business would relocate to Halifax. Currently (2017), most of the complex is occupied by Abbey Artstone, manufacturers of architectural stonework products. The office building at the eastern end of the mill is occupied by Keighley Lifts (UK) Ltd.
