Description and History of Site:-
Lock on the Driffield Navigation of 1770. Red brick with gritstone dressings. Shaped lock basin with batter to sides. Massive capstones. A single timber mooring- post survives to the north side. The upper lock gate was replaced per 2001while the lower or eastern gate was replaced in 2009.
