Peabody Trust Estate

Description and History of Site:-
Typical of standard design used 1860-1900, several brick five-storey blocks with courtyards and communal laundry rooms in top floor extension. These had several small 'coppers', iron bowls set in brick beneath in which fire could be lit to boil water, plus sinks. Now modernised.

Similar blocks in Blackfriars Road and Isabella Street.
