Description and History of Site:-
Established 1682 as the City's wholesale fruit & vegetable market. 3-storey brick facade in Dutch style, 1886-93, in Lamb St. Main part opened by Corporation of London 1928. Early electric lamp standards, 1897, around market. Wholesale market relocated to Leyton in 1991.
