Description and History of Site:-
Known as the Angel Clock or the Islington Clock.
Made by local firm J. Smith & Sons (qv), the clock was presented and gifted in 1906 by its makers to the Borough of Finsbury. J. Smith & Sons ceased making clocks in the late 1930s to concentrate on supplying specialist metals.
Prominent advertising of the company's products on side panels.
St Pancras Ironworks makers' plate on base.
