Description and History of Site:-
Gwyn and Williams (1996): 'An Italianate fantasy village, built by Clough Williams-Ellis from 1926 onwards; the hotel is on the site of a foundry - some sources suggest that this was a copper smelter - and the 'Amis Reunis’ stone boat occupies the site of the Aber-Iâ slate quay.'
