Description and History of Site:-
Presumably called Anchor Brewery after the Anchor and date of 1856 carved in the doorway of the shortened building adjacent to the tower part of the brewery. Typical malt-kilns to the north (at SE 39251 67232) also old oast-house overgrown with weeds. Pleasant, brick buildings. At some date the site has been redeveloped for housing.
