Farndale Ironstone Mine

Description and History of Site:-
Farndale Ironstone Mine visible as earthworks on the east side of Blakey Ridge above Farndale. Drift mine in the Dogger Seam, operated by the Blakey Ironstone Co. from 1873 to 1895 the mine were connected to the standard gauge branch of Rosedale Railway by an inclined tramway.
