Description and History of Site:-
A single freestanding beehive coke oven built in local flagstone, 3.8m by 3.7m and 2.2m high with a doorway in the south elevation about 0.7m wide with flagstone voussoirs and a 0.7 m wide flue. Internally it is beehive-shaped with a base diameter of 2.2m and a central height of 1.3m. It has been consolidated and is protected from livestock by a post and rail fence.

Date of construction not known and various dates from 1807 to 1830 have been proposed

It lies in an area of shaft mounds, some of which may predate 1807. It is one of the earliest surviving ovens of beehive form, most dating from post-1840.
