Yarnbury House

Description and History of Site:-
Information panel:

The lead mines on Grassington Moor were, and still are, part of the estate of the Dukes of Devonshire. This fine house was built in 1826 as an office and home for the then Duke's Mineral Agent. Its outbuildings included carpenter's and blacksmith's shops. In the garden stands The Weigh House. Here lead produced from the Grassington mines was weighed before being sent to market.
