Description and History of Site:-
The factory at Bury St Edmunds opened in 1924 to process sugar beet grown in Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

During 1973, it became the largest of its kind in Europe when two new silos were built.

British Sugar's retail arm Silver Spoon was established in 1972.
