Description and History of Site:-
This is actually the third of four railway station sites in Newmarket.
The old station buildings were purchased in 1967 by Sir James Fairbairn to house his own business, J Brooke Fairbairn & Company which imported and converted furnishing fabric and is still owned by the Fairbairn family.
The current (fourth) unstaffed station is located just to the north of this site.
