Burton's Factory

Description and History of Site:-
Burton's factory on Hudson Rd. Now labelled as a business park and used for a variety of different purposes.
In 1921 Montague Burton began to develop the Hudson Road factory. This becomes the biggest clothing factory in the world, employing 10,000 on the site and producing over 30,000 suits a week. It was for a time the biggest employer in Leeds. Hudson Road was the hub of the Montague Burton retail empire.
