Description and History of Site:-
Giles & Goodall wrote: "Established in 1840s as steam-powered fulling, scribbling and spinning mill, but rapidly becoming an integrated woollen mill with construction of powerloom-weaving sheds, finishing and dyeing departments, warehouse and, typical of the Heavy Woollen area, rag-grinding sheds. From 1872 it formed part of the business of J, T and J Taylor, the largest concern in Batley, based at Blakeridge Mills. Surviving buildings at time of record included main mill (four storeys, seventeen bays), rebuilt in 1895 after an earlier fire; weaving sheds (one on three levels), rag-grinding sheds, an elaborate warehouse and office building of c1865, and a combined mill and warehouse of c1922, the last with a steel frame and concrete floors. A turbine house was built in 1934-5."

Currently (2019) in mixed commercial uses: 'The Mill Outlet & Garden Centre'.
