Description and History of Site:-
A good example of a ferro-concrete water tower built c1928 on the site of the Ossett Corporation's Gawthorpe covered reservoir.
The tank had a capacity of 200,000 gallons (1,000,000 litres) and originally received water pumped from Pildacre Waterworks which closed in 1974. It is now supplied from Fixby treatment works.
