Description and History

Circular brick sewer 11'6" diameter, falling 2 feet per mile over 7.5 miles from Deptford lift station to Crossness outfall, completed in 1862. Visible above ground at the approach to Crossness. Engineer Sir Joseph Bazalgette. Contractor William Webster.
