Whitehall Road Generating Station - Leeds

A manhole cover of the 'Yorkshire House to House Electricity Company'. This company was the first to supply domestic electricity in Leeds (1893). The Leeds Corporation took over the company in 1898 (once it became clear that the operation was profitable). These items were cast locally by William Towler at the Globe Foundry in Holbeck.
