16-20 Horton Street - Halifax

Erected for George Whitley & Son, confectioners and caterers, to the designs of architects Joseph F. Walsh and Graham S. Nicholas. The bakery was still in operation during 1936 under the style of Lewis Bakeries, a business still flourishing in 1951-52. The bakery no longer operates and the whole block is now occupied by retail shops. Photo. shows the bakery block behind the shops from New Road, May 2002.
